Instructions to initiate a capital call for your offering.
When creating your offering on Alto, you will be asked, "Are there Capital Calls?"
Choose yes if your offering asks investors to contribute their pro rata portion of their fund commitment with uncalled capital to be requested at a future date.
Choose no if you ask investors for the total committed amount upfront.
When a capital call is due by an investor, you will need to create the capital call in the investor's IRA using the following instructions (Issuer):
- Navigate to your AltoIRA dashboard
- Select the investor’s name under the “Investors” section
- Select “New Capital Call” on the right side of the screen
- Enter the capital call amount and upload the capital call notice
- Sign your full name electronically
- Select “Execute Capital Call” on the bottom left of the screen
- An email will be sent to the investor from ‘no-reply@altoira’ requesting them to login and authorize the capital call.
- Upon the investor's authorization, Alto will fund the capital call within 2 business days so long as the IRA account is funded to cover and is 7 days old (IRS rule).
Investor Initiated Capital Call Steps:
- Navigate to your AltoIRA dashboard
- Select the investment name
- Click the "Issuer Capital Call" button
- Enter the capital call amount, upload the capital call notice, and complete the initiation
- An email will be sent to you from ‘no-reply@altoira’, but you do not need to take further action.
- Alto conducts a final review, and Alto will process the payment, and the capital call becomes active on the platform.
