How to complete self-accreditation

Alto allows you to verify your accreditation status through our guided, self-service tool.

Accreditation helps get you ready to invest when you find a deal you love, and Alto’s process makes it simple. Our self-accreditation tool takes just minutes to complete.


Not sure if you’re accredited? Being an accredited investor means you meet certain income, net worth or licensing requirements. Check out the criteria to qualify as an accredited investor.

 

Step 1: Once you find an investment opportunity you’re interested in, click “Apply to invest”.

 

Step 2: Answer our accreditation questionnaire. This questionnaire has less than 10 multiple choice questions and takes just a few minutes to complete. 

 

Step 3: Select your accreditation status and upload the required documents. 

Select how you’d like to verify your accreditation status

There are multiple ways to verify your accreditation status. Review the requirements below and upload the necessary documents.

 

Qualified Purchaser

  • Please provide recent account statements or third-party appraisals showing your investment assets exceed $5 million, excluding primary residence. Documents must be dated within the last 3 months.

Qualified Client

  • Please provide recent account statements or third-party appraisals showing your assets exceed $2.2 million, excluding your primary residence. Documents must be dated within the last 3 months.

Accredited Investor

Select one option to verify

  • Provide recent account statements or third party appraisals that show the value of your assets exceed $1 million, excluding your primary residence. Documents must be dated within the last 3 months.
  • Provide W-2s, 1099s, or tax returns for the past two years to show your individual income exceeds $200,000 or joint income exceeds $300,000 for each year.
  • Upload a document or image showing your name and CRD Number to verify you hold an active Series 7, Series 65, or Series 82 registration in good standing.
  • Provide a letter from a licensed CPA, attorney, investment advisor, or registered broker-dealer on their letterhead, stating they reasonably believe you are an Accredited Investor. The letter must include your name, date, and be dated within the last 3 months.
